I came to Canada to improve my English skill, grow personally, and experience different cultures. At first, I was nervous and avoided speaking with native speakers, but the friendliness of Canadian people helped me open up. For example, bus drivers often chat casually with passengers, which is very different from Japan. My host family is also warm and welcoming—my host father greets me every day and even gives me high-fives. These small gestures made me feel more comfortable and encouraged me to be more social.
Gradually, I started enjoying conversations with foreigners, and my English skills improved. Through these experiences, I discovered new values and became interested in international work. Although I haven’t decided on my future career yet, I now have more perspectives and stronger motivation to study English. Overall, studying abroad in Canada has been a valuable experience that expanded my worldview and helped me grow.
